Saturday, May 9 East Lake Pet Orphanage’s Eighth Annual Wine on the Roof Soiree celebrates pets and their fans this at 7:00 pm at East Lake Veterinary Hospital. This unique event features selections from The Dallas Morning News Gold Medal Wine List, paired with a delightful menu. The “Project Runaway” fashion show will showcase adoptable pets in handmade Canine Couture & Feline Finery by local fashion designers. Peruse a dazzling silent auction and enter a raffle that will literally take you away! Attendance is limited, A $55 donation per person is requested. May 16th Tail Chaser from Tassie Hope Come out and meet the great dogs from Tassie Hope. Friday - Saturday May 29-30th Dog Days of Denton. Bring your best friend for a day of fur-filled fun at the Dog Days of Denton Celebration on Friday, 5 - 8:30 pm and Saturday, 9 am - 4pm. Best and formerly known as the Dog Days of Summer, the Dog Days of Denton Celebration is in its 16th year and the event will be held in the north end of Quakertown Park near the Denton Senior Center and swimming pool at 321 E. McKinney, just a few blocks northeast of the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square. Cooler evening hours, more grass, trees, and space to roam (on a leash of course) are in store this year. During festival hours, attendees can enjoy fantastic festival foods, contests, live music and entertainment, kids’ games and SPCA adoptable pets. Vendors will sell their canine-themed wares, arts/crafts, pet care information, and pet rescue groups will be on- site. Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center is located at 1818 N. Westmoreland at I-30 West. The beautiful new center is open and ready. Adoption hours are 10-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10-4:30 p.m. Saturday, and 1-3:30 p.m. Sunday. For off-site adoption locations and hours, call the adoption hotline at 214-670-8216.

Pet Grief Counseling at the SPCA Telephone counseling is available by calling 1-888-ANIMALS, ext. 172. Designed to help those who are grieving the loss of a beloved companion animal.
